LastPass uses email verification to confirm that you have access to the email address you use for your LastPass account. Email verification is also used when LastPass detects a login attempt from an unidentified computer, mobile device, or IP address.
Verify your email for login attempts
If you encounter the following message when logging in to LastPass, you are required to complete the email verification process before you can log in.
Follow these steps to complete the email verification process for login attempts:
- LastPass sends you an email that contains a verification link (that is, to verify you are accessing LastPass from a device that you trust).
- Check your inbox for an email from LastPass with the subject "LastPass Security Notification: Login attempt blocked."
- If you are logging in to LastPass from a trusted device or location, select the verification link within the email.
- Log in to LastPass again.
Results: You completed the verification process for your login attempt to LastPass.

What if I don’t have access to my email account?
You should contact your email service provider to regain access to your email account. Once they've assisted you with accessing your emails, you can proceed with the email verification process for LastPass.
If you cannot access your email inbox but have permitted offline access in LastPass, you can log in offline to get a cached version of your LastPass vault.
Restriction: If you have a LastPass Business, LastPass Business Max, or LastPass Teams account, the ability to perform these actions may be limited due to policies set by your LastPass admin.
