You can delete your LastPass account on the My Account page if you know your master password, or on the Delete Your Account page if you don't.
Important:
Important: A deletion request submitted through the Individual Rights Management Portal does not result in the deletion of a LastPass account.
I know my master password
Before you begin: LastPass recommends that you export and save all of your vault data before proceeding, as this operation cannot be undone.
- Log in to LastPass and access your vault by doing either of the following:
- In your web browser toolbar, select and select Vault.
- Go to
https://lastpass.com/login/
and log in with your email address and master password.
- Select Account settings in the left navigation menu.
- In the Account Information section, in Links select My Account.

- Select Delete or reset Account.
- On the Delete Your Account page, select Delete.
- When prompted, select Yes.
- Enter your master password.
- Optional: Please provide the reason you are deleting your account. You can also provide feedback about why you are leaving LastPass.
- Select Delete.
- When prompted, select Yes > Yes > OK.
Results: You have permanently deleted your LastPass account.
What to do next:
I don't know my master password
- Open a web browser and go to
https://lastpass.com/delete_account.php
.
- Select Delete.
- When prompted, select No to indicate that you do not know your master password.
- Enter your account email address, then select Send Email.
- Check your inbox and select the link in the email from LastPass to confirm that you want to continue with your account deletion.
Result: You are redirected to the Delete Your Account page.
- Optional: Please provide the reason you are deleting your account and provide feedback.
- Select Delete.
- When prompted, select Yes > Yes > OK.
Results: You have permanently deleted your LastPass account.
I don't want to delete my LastPass account, but I can't log in because I forgot my master password
You don't have to delete your account just because you forgot your master password. Instead, review your options to recover your LastPass account. If recovery doesn't work or isn't possible, you can try resetting your LastPass account. It will purge all of your vault data but allow you to keep using the same email address and create a new master password.
Important: If you are a LastPass Teams or LastPass Business user, LastPass recommends contacting your LastPass admin before attempting account recovery. For more information, see Considerations for recovery of LastPass Business and LastPass Teams accounts.
About contacting LastPass Support to delete your account
If you choose to contact LastPass Support by selecting Request help logging in, your case submission is solely for the request of deleting your LastPass account. All other queries or escalations sent to LastPass using this article's case submission form will not be addressed.
