Generate one-time passwords

You can generate a list of one-time passwords (OTPs), which can be used during account recovery or when you need to log in to LastPass from a public or untrusted computer.

You can generate one-time passwords on the LastPass One-time passwords page at https://lastpass.com/otp.php .

Restriction: This feature is not available for federated users.

To generate a one-time password, do the following:

Log in to LastPass and access your vault by doing either of the following:
- In your web browser toolbar, select and select Vault.
- Go to https://lastpass.com/login/ and log in with your email address and master password.
- Log in to the LastPass for Desktop app.
Select Advanced options > Manage one-time passwords in the left navigation menu.
Choose from the following options:

If it's your first time generating an OTP

Select Generate a one-time password.

If you have already generated an OTP

Select Manage your one-time passwords.
Enter your master password, then select OK to continue.
Select to generate a new OTP.

Enter your master password, then select OK to continue.

Result: A new one-time password is generated and displayed in the window.

Repeat Steps #3-4 as many times as you want to generate a list of one-time passwords.

Results: You have successfully generated one-time passwords.

What to do next: You can store your generated one-time password in any of the following ways:

Select Print all, then select I'll store them safely to confirm. You can proceed to select a printer and print a physical copy of your one-time passwords to keep in a safe place, crossing them off as you use them.
Select Download all to download a copy of all generated one-time passwords, then select I'll store them safely to confirm. They are downloaded as a text file that you can update as you use and generate one-time passwords.
Select copy all generated one-time passwords, then select I'll store them safely to confirm. You can then paste them into a safe location and update the list (in that saved location) as you use them.
