Install the LastPass browser extension to manage your passwords easily across all websites without interrupting your browsing. Log in with your email address and master password to activate the extension and start using secure password management directly from your browser toolbar.
Restriction: LastPass is not supported on sites that run in IE mode.
Note: If you log in to your LastPass Business account through an identity provider (for example, AD FS, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Google Workspace, PingOne, PingFederate, or OneLogin), see Access LastPass using federated login for detailed login instructions.
- Go to the LastPass downloads website.
- Select Download for your web browser, or select Quick Install if you are currently using your web browser.
Note: When installing the LastPass browser extension for Mozilla Firefox, a pop-up window appears to comply with Mozilla's privacy policy. This pop-up describes how data is collected and allows you to enable or disable optional data collection. - Add the LastPass browser extension to your web browser and enable the extension.
- Optional: Pin the LastPass browser extension to your toolbar for quick access.
- In your browser toolbar, select the inactive LastPass icon.
- Enter your email address and master password, then select Log In.
Troubleshooting: If your company has set up federated login for your LastPass account, the master password field will not appear. Instead, you will be prompted to select Log in and will be redirected to your company's federated login page. For more information, see Log in to LastPass using the LastPass browser extension.
- Optional: In Advanced options, set any of the following preferences:
- Remember Email
- Remember master password, then select Confirm
- Show on-screen keyboard
- If multifactor authentication is enabled on your account, follow the prompts to authenticate. The authentication method will depend on how multifactor authentication is configured for your account. Common methods include push notifications with face or fingerprint recognition, time-based one-time passwords (TOTP), SMS passcodes, and phone calls. You can also enable the option to trust the device for 30 days.
Tip: If you have multiple authentication methods enabled, you can switch to a different method by selecting Additional Multifactor Options on desktop or tapping Use Alternate Multifactor on mobile. Results: An active LastPass icon now appears in your browser toolbar, indicating that you are successfully logged in to LastPass.
