Welcome to the community! We’re glad you’re here. This short guide will help you get comfortable, find what you need, and start connecting with others.
1. Log into LastPass
You'll get the most out of the Community if you can log into your LastPass account. This will give you permission to post new questions, comment on existing, and follow those you're interested in.
- If you're not already logged in, click Sign In at the upper-right corner of the Community home page.
- Enter your LastPass email address and account password to confirm your ID.
- You will then see a blank avatar image where the Sign In button was previously.
2. Set Up Your Profile
A complete profile helps people recognize you and personalize your Community experience. Your signature will be visible when you post in the Community, so please do not include any personal information that may reveal your identity.
- Click the blank profile image in the upper-right corner of the Community.
- Select Account And Privacy Settings.
- Click Edit Profile Fields (right side) to update your User Name and Bio.
- Click Save when finished (bottom).
- Click Change My Picture (right side).
- Select an avatar of your choosing by clicking directly on it.
- Click Save (bottom).
3. Search the Community
There may be an answer to your question already provided by Community members.
- From any page on the site, click LastPass (upper-left) to return to the home page.
- Search the Community for an your inquiry
- If you don't see one in the first set of results, scroll to the bottom and click Next Page
- Once you find the right scenario, click on it to see the full thread and solutions given by Community members.
- If the solution posted there doesn't work, share your current experience on the existing thread. Don't worry about spelling, but do include as much environmental details as possible.
- If the solution works, you may react to someone else’s post by clicking one of the emoji buttons underneath their comment, including Promote, Agree, Disagree, Like, Promote, and Share.
- By Promoting, Liking, and Agreeing, you'll automatically keep tabs on those threads to follow any new updates.
4. Ask a Question
After searching by keywords for matching discussions you may create your own, unique inquiry.
- Click LastPass (upper-left) to return.
- Under the Connect menu (top), select Ask a Question -or- Click the red Post a Question button (center), and a new page will open.
- On the Post page, remember to keep your Discussion Title brief.
- Within the Body section, include as many environmental factors as possible when describing the problem, including:
- The device in use
- Operating system version
- LastPass version
- Specific error messages
- Any troubleshooting steps performed so far
- Choose any Tags that may apply to your situation.
- Select Post to finalize your inquiry.
5. Follow Topics You Care About
There are several ways to stay up to date and manage your notifications.
- By default, you will be notified via email of any activity on posts you create.
- You may also click the bell icon (upper-right) from any page to view your notifications.
- If you no longer wish to be alerted, go to the active thread and click the Discussions Options icon (three dots within a circle) and select Mute.
- If you want fewer notifications, you may edit your preferences from the Profile page by selecting Edit Profile from the menu next to your avatar.
- Click Notification Preferences (right).
- Check or un-check the notifications you're interested in.
6. Other Areas to Explore
We've grouped helpful sections within menus at the top of the Community.
- Under Learn you'll find links to the Support Center, End-user training, Business admin training, and LastPass Blogs.
- Under Connect you can Ask a question, view current Discussions or upcoming Events.
- Under Support there are direct links for the Support Center, training Videos, Download LastPass, and Release Notes.
- Under Discover the Community categories include LastPass Central, New to LastPass, Advanced Features, Business features and tips, and Families and individuals.
- Clicking Guidelines will take you straight to the page before this one, including the Rules of Engagement, and Gamification overviews.
