Use theĀ ReportĀ button to alert the moderators. Reports are reviewed, and action is taken based on the Rules of the Road. You do not need to confront the member yourself.
6. How do badges, points, and ranks work?
Gamification rewards members for participating. You can earn:

- RanksĀ for consistent, longāterm engagement
These elements help highlight helpful and trusted contributors.
7. Can I promote my business or products?
Typically no. Selfāpromotion, ads, and marketing content are not allowed unless explicitly permitted in a specific area. Sharing helpful resources is fineāsales content is not.
8. How are posts moderated?
A moderation team reviews reports, removes inappropriate content, and ensures conversations stay respectful and constructive. Moderators may contact you if something needs to be edited or removed.
9. What happens if I break the rules?
Depending on the issue, actions may include:
- A friendly reminder
- Content removal
- Temporary suspension
- Permanent ban (for repeated or severe violations)
These steps help keep the community safe and welcoming.
10. How do I get help with my account?
If youāre having trouble logging in, updating your profile, or accessing certain areas:
- Check the Help or Support section for articles and guides
- If you cannot log in or don't qualify for Support assistance, you may use the "Request Help" button within theĀ Trouble Logging InĀ support article.
You should expect an email follow up from Customer Support once you fill out the contact form.
11. Can I use Private Messaging?
Private messaging is disabled by default to protect the privacy of Community members and avoid any unwanted harassment. Moderators can send you a message if you request a follow up after contacting Customer Support or sensitive account information needs to be shared.
12. What is the maximum file size when attaching items to a Community discussion?
Community members may upload up to 100 MB per file attachment.
13. How do I change my notifications?
Visit yourĀ Account SettingsĀ to choose how often you receive emails or alerts. You can follow or unfollow topics based on your preferences.
14. Can I delete my posts or account?
While you can delete your LastPass account at any time, contributions to the LastPass Community will be saved indefinitely, as long as the content is still relevant.
