If you experience issues while using LastPass on your desktop, whether through the LastPass browser extension or the LastPass website, many common problems can be resolved by following the troubleshooting steps outlined in this article.
Warning: Clearing your browser cache will remove the secure secret associated with that browser and device. If you do not remember your master password, this may prevent you from accessing your LastPass account. - Refresh sites. Refreshing the sites in your vault forces a synchronization of your stored data, which can resolve many common issues.
- Clear local LastPass cache. Clearing your local cache deletes the locally stored copy of your encrypted data. To rebuild the local cache, log out of LastPass and then log back in while connected to the internet.
Troubleshooting: At this point, try logging out and logging back in to LastPass. If the issue persists, continue with the next steps.
- Destroy active sessions. You can view all devices and IP addresses where you've accessed your LastPass account (including mobile devices) and end any sessions that are no longer needed.
- Uninstall and then reinstall the LastPass browser extension. If the troubleshooting steps within LastPass haven't resolved your issue, uninstall and then reinstall the latest version of the LastPass browser extension.
- Clear browser cache and cookies. If the steps above haven't resolved your issue, try clearing your browser's cache and cookies, then attempt the action again. The exact steps may vary depending on your browser.
