Generate one-time passwords (OTPs) in LastPass. These will only work for a single login session to access your vault.
Restriction: This feature is not available for federated users of LastPass Business.
What is a one-time password?
A one-time password (OTP) is a password that you can use only once to log in to LastPass. After the one-time password has been used, it becomes invalidated and cannot be reused.
When should I use a one-time password?
One-time passwords can be used during the account recovery process if you forget your LastPass master password.
Alternatively, one-time passwords can be used if you want to access LastPass from a public computer and do not want to enter your master password. The use of an OTP prevents others to access your master password using a keylogger to capture your key stokes.
They are also useful if you need to access your LastPass vault from someone else's device, but you don't know what kind of security features are implemented on it.
How do I generate one-time passwords?
You can generate one-time passwords after you have logged in to your LastPass account. They are safe to write down on paper or into text files. However, LastPass Support cannot provide you with one-time passwords.

CAUTION: Changing or resetting your master password will invalidate all one-time passwords that you generated before the change occurred, as that action will re-encrypt your vault with your new master password. This means that you will need to generate new OTPs after a master password change.
