Authenticator set-up problem

I want to set up the authenticator. I've enabled the authenticator, downloaded the app to mobile and proceeded to set-up.

I don't want my use of Last Pass to be dependent on another family member's phone (for the alternative phone number) so I want to set up biometrics as backup - but there is no option to select this. Just a link to FIDO2 set up. If I try this and select Windows it fails (and I'm not sure I even want to do this).
So I can't set up the authenticator.

Currently I use microsoft authenticator on my phone, but wanted to get away from microsoft

Thanks for your inquiry, Jan.

While you do need to set up a backup option behind the LastPass Authenticator, you can use the same phone number the app is installed upon, to receive either a phone call or text message as MFA.
