Hello,
Welcome to the LastPass Community!!
Currently, you cannot change the method for this type of email verification. We do not recommend on doing the following, but you can disable it instead. If you already have MFA set up for your account, you can keep it working that way.

As the OP says, they already want to use the authenticator for this purpose and it *does not work*. I have the same issue - every month I'm forced to *both* revalidate via email *and* via my already set up MFA. I have no problem with continuing to use the email to validate a new machine, but LP insists that it "doesn't recognise" the machine I use every day.
What I can add here is, every device and IP address needs to be periodically authorized, regardless of the previous approval.
Using a VPN or private browsing experience may require you to reauthenticate again where LastPass cannot identify that device or location.
The email + Auth app would not be such an issue but for 2 factors:
1) my recovery email is not my primary email, so I have to log into it when i need to use it, which is great for security, but far less fun when I don't have a password manager to assist....
2) almost every time, the first email does not get sent. I have to go through the whole process twice to get the validation email. Why doesn't it work the first time?
