Lastpass is Protecting You popup - how do I get it to stop?

Since around mid-December, when clicking in a field to fill it out, I keep getting a LastPass is protecting you popup.

I clicked in the field so obviously want to fill out.

I chose LastPass so I would be protected...while filling fields so I obviously don't need to be reminded that LastPass is protecting me.

This popup is obnoxious as I'll get out!

In the Vault I turned off the Use the new and improved save and fill...which is not an improvement.

When I turned that off it wouldn't fill any field. So, I had to turn it back on again and I'm back to square one.

How do I turn off this terrible popup?

I just want to click in a field and be able to fill it. I do NOT want to click in a field, get that stinking popup, have to scroll down in the popup to confirm I want to fill out the field I just clicked in, wait for the popup to disappear and then have it filled.

As a person with a disability, these extra mouse movements and clicks cause extra pain. It is not user friendly for people with chronic illness. It's also why I use an auto-filler.

It is not accessibility friendly!

So, how do I get this popup to stop?

If there isn't a way to stop this maddening popup from occurring I will be forced to stop using LastPass because it isn't accessibility oriented.

I contacted support about this directly and they said the feature cannot be turned off. I opted to use google chrome autofill for my addresses and turn off address autofill with lastpass until they get it together and find a way to toggle this feature off.

ps. dear lastpass for the love of god and all that is holly please provide an option to turn off this popup. I love your product but im gonna switch products over this in due time.

I just tried in 4 different browsers (Edge, Chrome, Vivaldi, and Brave) and NONE of them give the stupid popup, only Firefox did.

Of course Firefox is my main browser. It also means, more than likely, it can be changed so the popup doesn't appear in Firefox.

So, here's more info:

I do not know but I sure wish I did. I can not stand it. I use a modified accessible version of Windows 11 and NORMALLY these types of pop-ups are handled well - but however they are opening this makes the windowing system I use go crazy and I lose all my windows entirely- Like you I use this for accessibility reasons. Not only is this intrusive - but it is a nightmare for me - I can't get out of it when it comes up. I have to quit my browser and start over.

This is SUPER annoying. Why does this popup need to show at all???? Please help use remove it. I use Firefox too on Mac and get this FKNG popup every time I use Lastpass. Ugggg.

This pop up was the final straw for me. The pop up plus multiple security breaches in the last few years have led me to change password managers.

I see no solution to this annoying popup no matter where I search. No answer here at LastPass "support." LastPass support is a joke. If you search for an answer, you get 1104 articles, no matter what your search for. You try the "Contact Us" button and are redirected to this worthless search page.

I absolutely hate this pop up. Most of all, I hate "Lastpass is protecting you" I mean really didn't any of these guys read 1984? And contrary to a previous comment, my experience is that it happens in all or at least most of the browsers including Chrome

Yup, it's almost as if they've taken a page from the Microsoft handbook on how to ignore customer requests. Lastpass needs to remember that without their customers they have no business.

I am currently looking for a replacement for Lastpass.

Same. This popup is redundant and useless.

When my annual renewal comes around, I will consider moving. Not because this popup is THAT annoying for me but because Lastpass is just ignoring their customers, when adding a toggle to turn this off would be easy.

I also find this pop-up incredibly disruptive. It constantly interrupts my workflow, and I've wasted so much time trying to turn it off without success. After reading this thread, I've decided it's time to switch password managers.

I also really hate this. I want to export all my stuff out of Lastpass but am unsure how to do it so far. But this was the last straw for me, too. It's ridiculous. I'm a grown person and it's my account, so anyway, not paying for premium anymore either because it doesn't work on my phone most of the time. traaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssssh.

Yeah, trash is a good term for LastPass. Especially since they were hacked in 2022. Doesn't even make me feel secure to keep my passwords on it. I'm using Bitwarden now and like it.

This is the most stupid and annoying thing. I can't find the popup 90% of the time because it just vanished. Yes, LastPass, you are definitely protecting me because I can't use my credit card at all.

I found a solution - I switched to NordPass.

They don't care what their customer's want, probably because "we're too stupid to know just how hackable we really are" when some of their users (like myself) worked in IT for close to 20 years and know how hackable things are. This popup is redundantly stupid.

Perhaps they believe a hacker, trying to use any password stored in LastAss, will get so sick and tired of having to click on the popup that'll they'll stop using any password stored in LastAss. Cuz I know it made me not want to click on it.

What they don't understand is pissing off their customer base is a good way to lose customers - and there are MANY other password managers out there. (Proton Pass is the newest one that I really like.) Without their customers they don't have a business.

sometimes websites ask for your password again and I have to go to lastpass, unhide my password and then do cut and paste - this "enhancement" won't allow me to do it - also I need to grab the password so I can use the app on my phone

+1 please add the option to disable this "feature". I hate it. I like the suggestion of using my brower's autofill instead of LP.

User17262848303377033578 - just be aware that some browser's autofills are not as safe as separate app. This is because the browser popularity might make it an easy target.

You can chose to use a browser's autofill but I recommend only putting in info that could be found on people search sites (name, address, phone number and email) and not inputting anything super sensitive, like financial passwords, credit card information, or social security numbers/federal ID numbers.

Absolutely sick of lastpass and this is the last straw. After they locked me out a couple years ago and received zero support for a week, I was done but this annoyance really passes me off
