Setting up a free account for somebody else. How does device type switching work, exactly?

I've my own free Lastpass account for years, and now I want to set one up for my wife, and populate it with the passwords she needs to use the most. I know that with free accounts, users are only allowed a certain number of device type changes, e.g. from PC to phone and vice versa. (More on that later.) My question is, can I set up the account and populate it on a tablet PC and it'll still work on her phone? She will be using it mostly on her phone, and it would be inconvenient to have to borrow her phone to do this.

For my own account, I noticed just now that I still had a couple of device type changes left; I thought I had used them all up. Do we get a fresh allotment every year or so, or have I just not used all the ones I was given originally?

The short answer is: Yes. Tablets and Mobile Phones are considered the same 'type' of device, except in some cases where the tablet may be running a full operating system (this is rare).

If you should ever consider upgrading your subscription, then I highly recommend both users set Emergency Access for each other in case of any sort of problem.
