LastPass is not automatically logging me out after N minutes of inactivity on Linux Chrome

Question

After recently setting up an older desktop box with Fedora 41 KDE Plasma X.org (not Wayland due to older Nvidia GTX 650 driver needed)  to use as my primary desktop instead of a backup server, while my laptop's GPU fan is replaced, I noticed that LastPass was not logging me out after a while - I could come back the next day and still be logged in -- so I checked the extension settings and set it to 180 minutes of inactivity.

... and that was several days ago.

I'm still logged in..

We apologize in advance for the issues you have been experiencing using your LastPass account.

To resolve this issue please do the following:

* log out of the LastPass extension (red square on the top right hand side of your screen)
* remove the LastPass extension (right click your mouse, select remove)
* clear your cache and cookies from your browser for the last 7 days (settings, privacy and security)
* add the LastPass extension (download it at lastpass.com/download)
* log in again 
* set up the log out after a determine amount of minutes
