Why when I disable Improved Save and Fill, it does not stay disabled?

When I go into Advanced Settings and Disable the Use Improved Save and Fill, it does not stay disabled after I close my browser or reboot my computer. It continually goes back to the apparently default setting of enabled.

I have been disabling the horribly buggy and garbage "Improved Save and Fill" since it first came out a while back. I disable it because it causes FAR MORE problems than it "improves". And although I remember other reports of users having problems with disabling it a year or so ago, I did not have any problems disabling it until very recently.

I'm sure this is yet another example of how LastPass continues to turn its once-great product into a raging dumpster fire of buggy features, security breaches, and product mismanagement. But hopefully someone might be able to give me an insight as to how to actually fix this thing.

I honestly expect the answer to be "Go into advanced settings and disable it" (which I have already done a thousand times, that's the problem) because that is par for the course with LastPass and its bumbling incompetence these days. But I figure it's worth a shot before I bite the bullet and go through the incredible inconvenience of switching to a superior competitor password manager.

It will no longer be able to be disabled nor you will be able to find the setting to disable it anymore. Henry, thank you for the quick answer. I don't like the answer, but I appreciate knowing that this is an intentional thing you are forcing onto your users whether they like it or not.

This is a massive problem for us. I spent no less than 15 hours going back and forth LP support on this issue last year because the "Improved Save & Fill" goes completely out of control with trying to save forms everywhere we go across the web in our business. It completely breaks our order processing and ecommerce management and inventory systems and our only solution there is to Never URL those sites which means we can't even use LastPass with our core systems. But even beyond that, the Improved Save & Fill is always trying to save WAY TOO MUCH on other sites. And it's not possible to "Never URL" everything out there.

We have been surviving by manually disabling the Improved Save & Fill but by ramming this broken and horrible new interface down our throats, you are breaking our business functions.

Everytime I think LastPass can't get any worse (whether it's negligence in protecting our data from breaches or bad UX), LastPass somehow finds a way to make things even worse.

I'm sorry Henry, but your suggestion of going to LastPass Support is an empty promise. I spent months trying to resolve these very issues with support, made dozens of screen capture videos and nothing EVER got fixed.

I am writing to express my deep frustration and concern regarding a recent change in your software, which has significantly impacted my daily routine and productivity. Like many others, including User17144103927625911784, I have encountered an issue that needs your immediate attention.

Traditionally, my morning routine includes starting my computer and navigating to "vault -> advanced settings -> disable save and fill" to ensure LastFill operates correctly. However, this option is no longer available, and I can no longer perform this essential operation.

Why, might you ask, is this necessary? Simply put, disabling save and fill is the only way LastFill functions properly on my system. By removing this feature, it seems like an attempt to obscure an existing problem, leaving users like myself in a predicament.

I have been a loyal LastPass user for over three years, but today, I find myself questioning the continuation of my subscription. You were once a great product that stood out in the market. Yet now, it appears that in an attempt to resolve issues I cannot comprehend, you have compromised the functionality crucial to some of your users, including myself and User17144103927625911784.

I am reluctant to adjust my settings in this manner, but it was the only solution that allowed me to use LastFill effectively. With this functionality now removed, I am at a loss about how to proceed with LastPass.

Please address this issue promptly or provide a workaround. If not resolved, I regretfully consider discontinuing my use of your service.

so this "feature" needs to be turned off all together. It's a complete trash feature, that has no benefit whatsoever. It automatically will fill in certain OTP text boxes and when you clear them out and try to type in the OTP you get from either email or your phone, it just re-adds the damn password again into the field, and unless you close out of lastpass extension all together, it wont let you get past. What a complete piece of crap feature. Either bring back the option to turn off the feature or get ready for a whole lot of users to just up and leave for greener password managers.
