Why doesn't the LastPass extension work reliably on Safari?

Most of the time, the LastPass extension for Safari shows as an orange button, with no popup when selected. The desktop app is working and I've confirmed the settings for the extension are enabled properly. When this happens, the app doesn't autofill passwords or give the option to select passwords in the drop down. For example, with Google login.

LastPass Support

If you have automatic updates turned on by default, then you should now have version 4.151.5 for Safari.

Please let us know if you experience any further difficulty with this version, and specify any new behaviors identified.

There are several active states for the latest LastPass app version for Safari. Be sure to check the notifications and dismiss any alerts if needed.

Alternatively, you can try re-enablingLastPass for Safarias follows:

Quit Safari.
Relaunch Safari.
In the Menu Bar, selectSafari>Settings.
Select theExtensionstab.
Uncheckthe box forLastPass for Safariin the left navigation.
SelectLastPass for Safariagain to re-enable it.
Quit Safari and relaunch again (as you may have opened theLastPass for Safarimenu before LastPass finished logging you in to your account).

Same here. I've only just started using Safari (since Google went feral I'm dropping Chrome, which worked really well with LastPass), and consequently have upgraded to the new LastPass for Safari. Mostly the extension icon is orange and passwords are not supplied to places I'm logging in to.

I'm having the same issue and have tried deactivating/reactivating/restarting many times. Often Lastpass will work initially but it always breaks again.
