Is there an option to not suggest updating password on certain cites?

I use two-factor on some sites that require appending a passcode to the actual password. It is great that lastpass stores my password and auto-fills it and then I just have to append the passcode. However, every single time I do this, lastpass prompts me to store the "updated" password. Of course, the password has not been changed; it is just that the last x characters are different every time.

It would be amazing if there were a way to tell lastpass to ignore the last x characters in the password for a given site when detecting a changed password.

As mentioned in the post above could you try adding a Never URL for the login page where it asks for the additional password/code and use the "Never Add Site" or the other options presented when adding the Never URL?

This feature would be really helpful. We have lots of sites where we have to add a changing code to the end of the password and are always worried that we will accidentally save the password when prompted....which would then save a useless password that includes the changing part.

A step down from this would be to allow us to mark the record as NEVER ASK TO RECORD CHANGE on a password.

I haven't seen a site like this, so I cannot test this method, but have you tried the "Never URLs" tab in your settings? If you click Add, there is a "Never Do Anything" option.

OK, that does work how I want for the most part. I suspect if I actually did change the password, it wouldn't notice the change, but I guess that is OK because I don't change the password nearly as often as I use it.

I want to make clear that there is a strong difference between "for the most part" and actually solving the issue. I'm in the same position with several of my sites, and more all the time, that have you append a one time code to the password. I'm usingNever URLs but then when I do change the password LastPass misses the change (as it should since the site is in theNever URL list) but that isn't good behavior.

Best would be to have the site marked as "Appends One-time-code to password" with a specific number of characters and then ignore those when seeing if the password changed. That means LastPass would not ask to record a new password just because the last n characters changed but also WOULD ask to record the new password when an actual password change happens. But actually that wouldn't work as stated since when specifically changing a password you typically do not add the one-time-code to the current or new passwords. So perhaps what is needed for these kinds of sites is a URL for the normal login where LP doesn't prompt for a new password and a second URL where the password change URL can go so LP will capture new passwords there.

Workarounds are OK for the short term, but with passwords actual solutions are what is needed!
