Installing LastPass on new Macbook Pro

I'm trying to set up a new Macbook Pro. I went to the AppStore to try to reinstall the App I had installed on my old Macbook Pro. Surprisingly, it seems like it's been there unchanged for the last 2 years. But, I install it, and it starts Ok. I like the fact that it seems to support TouchID. But, when it goes to install the Safari extension, it appears to launch Safari with a URL referring to `https://safari-extensions.apple.com/`. However, Safari says "Http/1.1 Service Unavailable".

I called support to "just get it installed", and they gave me a link to install an App not through the App Store. Which worked, but somewhere in the process I had two different Apps called Last Pass installed.

What is the correct way to install the Last Pass App and get Safari extensions working?

I stumbled onto the answer in the support area of Lastpass's site. I found this article when I went into my cases and typed in how to install the extension in Safari - was pointed to this page.

Now it is working after using it - seems like I had to run the download and then log in which then kicked off the section where I could authorize the extension. I'm not sure why it has to be so difficult than installing it from within Safari itself.

The same exact thing happened to me. I haven't been able to get the extension installed in Safari and I have not been able to find a work around. I'll try calling them like you did to see if it gets installed.
