Why doesn’t Last Pass extension stay logged in after re-opening the browser?

Question

This is only occurring in Chrome browser 109 on different devices with v4.138.3.

Version 4.138.3 extension in Firefox has no issues staying logged in after closing and reopening the browser.

4.138.3 in Chrome 109 (Doesn’t stay logged in)

4.138.3 in Firefox 99 (Stays logged in)

Tested version 4.130.0 in chrome 91 portable and it works properly (Stays logged in).

I’m considering uninstalling 4.138.3 and installing the latest version 4.139.0.

If that doesn’t work, I will install version 4.130.0.

When this issue originally started, my suspicion was because of the browser version which is why I tested an older extension with an older browser.

The version of my OS does not support above 109, if it did, I would have tested the extension in a newer version of Chrome.

Either way, the latest versions of the extension should be backward compatible.

Why make a product that no longer works properly or at all in order to force customers to upgrade everything including the OS.

The older version of the extension is working properly. There’s nothing I need or require from the latest versions of the extension.

Thank you for the information provided.

I believe that your Chrome browser might be the one out of date. Because my browser is currently on version 132.0.6834.111and it's possible that the reason why the LastPass extension is not working as wanted is because the browser is not working on the latest version since basically LastPass is force to update their versions accordingly to the browser update needs.

Maybe you can try to update your browser and verify if that makes a differnce.

I apologize for the huge inconvenience this is causing you. I have seen that this issue is mostly related to a high volume of cache, cookies, or a sync issue on LastPass. I will recommend following these steps:

Note: Before making any of these steps, please make sure you know your master password!

1. Clearthe LastPass cacheandrefresh sitesfrom the LastPass extension, log out

2. Proceed touninstall the LastPass extension, and clear cache and cookies (all time) on the browser

3. Close completely and reopen the browser,install the extension again, log back in, and verify if the issue persists
