Luckily the Chrome extension was still logged in so I was able to copy one by one (for exporting, I also needed to put my master password) every saved password and I'm moving out of Lastpass.
I cannot believe they didn't take into account this scenario, which isn't even an edge case.
I've had the same issue a few days ago. I honestly can't remember how I ended up asking them this question. Please check Help as it covers pretty much all the options. One of them is to revert the account if you changed your master password up to 30 days ago. You can use biometrics if you had set them up before. I didn't. Can't remember being warned by Lastpass about back up. Fortunately though I had exported my Lastpass passwords as a CSV. So because I ran out of other options to restore access I had to reset the account, then I reimported the old-ish passwords and started all over again.
The most hilarious part of the process is getting the follow up emails from support asking how I am going. They come for the 'no-reply' email address and tell me to log in to see my cases and reply. Which was the problem in the first place - no master password! Now that I've reset the password the case is gone. @Lasspass - you need better business analysts. lol
