When I launch Threads from the LastPass vault, I receive an "incorrect password" and then a "something went wrong message." This happens on both mobile and desktop. I have been assured the password is inputted into Threads correctly.

I am sorry about the issues you are having. If you copy and paste the password are you getting the same error? If so, then the password is probably incorrect.
