Can't change weak master password or add 2factor - enable safari extension keeps popping up!

Hi I really hope someone can help me ASAP. I'm trying to change my weak master password post hack revelations but everytime and everyday I try to change it or add extra security layers "enable safari extension" pops up and I can't get past it. I am using Chrome with Chrome browser extension on a MacBook- I don't currently use Safari.

Same thing happens when I click lost password and when I try to enable 2 factor ID.

Please help! I am concerned this "enable safari extension" cycle is part of the hack.

I suggest avoiding the Browser Extension use right now just for simplicity.

Go to https://lastpass.comin your URL browser (do not log in to the plug-in or extension at this time), log in, make all changes there *IN* the browser view. The plug-in or browser extension is only a "copy" or cache of your actual vault, I always recommend changes in the URL access not the plug-in/browser extension when I can avoid it.
