This is my son's free account. None of the help topics address this type of situation. So, if I didn't have my account to login with, any semblance of "support" becomes non-existent, since any interaction with the community, or any correspondence with LastPass support, requires the user to login.! Asinine....

It sounds like you may have used a one-time-password to access your account instead of updating the login credentials. That would explain the old password still working afterwards.

If you recently updated the account password within the past 30 days, then you may revert to the last known password through this location: https://lastpass.com/revert.php

If you're ever locked out and would like confirmation of the current account status, you may create a case without logging in through the 'Request help' button on any recovery article such as this.
