Generate password when adding new item?

Don't know if this feature exists, if so could you please tell me how to do it?

If I want to add a new item I open the vault and go to passwords and click the 'plus' icon to add a new item. That opens the form to store the password. Is there any way to define that when I click this plus icon and want to store a new password item, that Lastpass generates a password from my set preferences (24 chars, symbols etc) so I can just copy the password to where I need it immediately?

Right now I go to advanced -> generate, then copy that password, use it - and then I have to remember to go to items and add item to add it. A lot of my stuff is not just web forms, it's also a master password for Moba Xterm, SSH and FTP passwords etc that is not easily detected by the plugin.

You can access the password generator by clicking on the LastPass extension, then clicking on generator. From there you may generate a password.

You are missing the point. My question is not 'how to generate a password'. How can you even think to answer in this way given my original question.

When I want to store a new item in the password vault, I probably want to store that item with a unique password.

Creating a new item should pre-fill that password into the dialog because it's logical and saves me the trip to the password generator first.

Just mimic the behavior of Keepass, really.
