The verification email contains an approximate location based on where the IP address is registered. This is not exact and in some cases it will show a different location. If you are using a VPN service this will be more common.

To be sure that the email was received for the attempt you made, you can compare the IP address from the email with your public IPv4 address. You can find this easily if you do a google search of: What's my IP.
