If someone changes the password, is the new password automatically pushed to everyone to whom it is shared?
Hi @Nello,
As noted on this page:https://support.logmeininc.com/lastpass/help/use-the-sharing-center-lp020007
"Once an item has been shared, if the owner updates the shared item since the last time it was shared, the owner must share it again to ensure the recipient has the latest version of that item."
Is this a feature LP is considering offering? Resharing is not happening consistently. Even an alert that pw has been changed would be helpful, but ability to "auto update" a password or not would be a great feature.
Hi@"ean", welcome to the community.
Password Sharing is one of the areas of LastPass we are looking into improving, and automatically updating shared password is definitely feedback we are aware of.
I'm actually looking at switching because of this issue. I thought it was broken but apparently, that's how Lastpass works. I have a family account but share a bunch of passwords with friends (outside of my family network) for stuff like fantasy football. If I reset my password I have to type in everyone's email address and reshare it with them.
Crazy that passwords don't automatically sync with a shared user. If I didn't want to share the new password with someone then I would remove them from the shared password. Seems like a big oversight.
Any ETA on when this will be fixed? I've seen numerous complaints about this since 2019 and it's already 2023. 5 years and it's still not fixed...
Agreed - I thought shared LastPass passwords auto updated but it appears that's not the case. I hope they change this.
Agreed, this seems like a very basic feature that our organization is shocked that LastPass doesn't have. We are considering switching to a competitor over this- we have many shared items across our organization and to expect us to re-share with every individual every time a password is changed is ridiculous.
Did Lastpass develped this feature?
How in the world is this not already built in??
