Question about LastPass' autofill

I am totally new to password managers. Will start reading the information I just found on this site to get started. But wondered if anyone could let me knowhow it works. After setting the website and password up, Will the LastPass sign me into sites already set up, without always having to use the master password? Does that mean the vault has to be kept open?

Hello,

LastPass can autofill your login information on sites, and you can also enable automatic login (autologin) for specific sites for which you have stored login information and want LastPass to automatically log you in to that site when it is visited, although there isn't a way to auto login on all sites and this setting must be enabled for sites individually:https://support.logmeininc.com/lastpass/help/set-up-automatic-logins-lp020008

You do not need to keep the Vault open, once you have the LastPass browser extension installed you simply sign in and once signed in you will stay signed in to the browser extension and LastPass will auto fill and auto save sites for you:https://www.lastpass.com/autofill
