It’s been a long journey together, and I was happy. But now… I’m not feeling safe.
I’ve been a long-time user of LastPass. For years, it was my go-to solution — reliable, secure, and convenient. I paid for premium, I set up 2FA with YubiKey, and I trusted it with my most sensitive data. It wasn’t just a tool; it was a part of my daily workflow and my sense of digital safety.
But lately, things changed.
My YubiKey setup doesn’t work at all. Despite showing as “active” in one part of the interface, it’s “inactive” in another — and in practice, it simply doesn’t function. I opened a support ticket, and after waiting for what was promised to be a 24-hour response, I received a one-liner: “It should work.”
No follow-up. No real help.
No thanks.
On top of that, the browser plugin has become unstable — logging me out after every session and repeatedly asking for reauthentication. What used to be seamless now feels broken, clunky, and honestly, unsafe.
Even with time left on my paid subscription, I can no longer justify staying. This isn’t just about inconvenience — it’s about trust. And once that’s lost, it’s hard to get back.
To the team behind LastPass: I genuinely appreciated the years of good service. But security is everything. And right now, I just don’t feel secure.
Time to move on.
