When I pull up LastPass in Chrome this morning, it comes up but is greyed out and not responsive. It is working on my phone and another laptop. Chrome is up to date. Any suggestions?
Hi,
We identified an issue with the new version of Chrome 94.0 that was released today, it causes the Vault to be unresponsive. We are working on releasing an update and new browser extension in the next 48 hours as long as no other issues are discovered before then.
Update: Signing in directly on the websitehttps://www.lastpass.com/will work as normal. The extension update is will be coming soon.
Hi @Matt173,
Could you try logging in to your Vault in a Private/Incognito browser window to see if this still happens? Could you also try logging in to LastPass after disabling all other ad/content/popup blockers (including other extensions which may block ads/content/popup) as we've noticed this could cause this issue.
Having the same issue after update Chrome to the latest version today. (Ver. 94.0.4606.54)
working on my phone and in other browser, only having the issue with Chrome.
Hi @RachelO,
I tried your suggestions but that did not help. Lastpass also does not work in Chrome Incognito and I do not have any ad blockers or other extensions installed in Google Chrome. Lastpass works without flaw in MS Edge and in Mobile Android Chrome. But it is unusable and frozen in Google Chrome on my PC Desktop computer.I am using Google Chrome (version: 94.0.4606.54, and the Lastpass Extension version 4.80.0)
I am experiencing this exact issue with no resolution so far. I have narrowed it down to being an issue with Chrome and the Laspass extension. The computer has no other extensions installed. Lastpass works fine with Edge and Firefox. Below is a list of what I have tried so far.
1. Removed & Re-added the LastPass Extension
2. Cleared Browser Cache & Cookies
3. Cleared LastPass cache
4. Uninstall & Reinstall Chrome
This was not an issue till 8:30am this morning (9/22). Yesterday LastPass was functioning perfectly fine. When the screen turns grey, refreshing the page will take you back to the Vault homepage. It will grey screen once again when trying to edit a saved credential.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Please note that you can of course use LastPass with other browsers. Edge works fine for instance.
I am also experiencing this issue. As a temporary workaround try pressing "Escape" on the keyboard when the window is greyed out. I am then able to use the lastpass vault for a bit before it locks up again.
Hopefully they release a fix in the next 48 hours as they mentioned..
That is not a solution, everyone has a different browser preference. I paid for a product based on the claims the product makes. But all good, the developers seem to be working on a bug fix.
I have Lastpass for Families. I am setting up a new computer. LP works with Edge. However, in Chrome, the extension is installed, I can log into LP, but when I go to open my vault, the vault opens, but the page freezes. I see vault items, but cannot click on anything. It is the latest version of Chrome and latest LP Extension.
I tried uninstalling the extension and reinstalling and also uninstalling chrome and reinstalling and same thing.
Any idea?
Any update on the extension update?
Extension updated and now it works.
I'm having the same problem with FireFox. If I close Firefox and restart, LastPass comes up already logged in.
Hi @SteveR51,
Could you try uninstalling the LastPass extension, restarting your browser then reinstalling the extension from here?https://lastpass.com/download/
No, actually, it didn't.
I'm having lots of problems with new upgrade - and I just upgraded in early October. It's not filling in, not automatically adding a password when I add a password. Frustrating
Hi @Hermione,
Apologies as we're not sure what troubleshooting you've tried so far, have you already tried uninstalling the LastPass extension and reinstalling from here then testing again?https://lastpass.com/download/
Sorry, I've been sick since I asked the question. If I uninstall then reinstall LP will I keep my passwords?
Yes, your LastPass Vault data is not stored on your device specifically but is stored securely in the cloud. If you log out or uninstall/reinstall LastPass or log in to LastPass on a new deviceyour Vault data will be shown as soon as you log in.
First, I'm not using Chrome, I'm using Safari. I uninstalled and reinstalled Lastpass and the Lastpass Safari extension and yet I am unable to activate the safari extension. It is not showing up when I go to Safari - Preferences _ extensions. It is not listed. I have quit safari and reopened it 4 times. Nothing. Any suggestions?
Could you double check that you have the LastPass Mac App downloaded from here:https://lastpass.com/download/ (the LastPass mac app includes the safari extension)
I did download it from there, uninstalled and reinstalled 2 or 3 times. I spoke with support at LastPass and after trying several things to fix the problem, the person I spoke with confirmed that there is a known problem with the latest version of LP not working with the latest version of Safari, so I have switched to Firefox. Thank you for your help!
Hi @LovelyLadyLucy,
There is still a LastPass Free option, to see features for each of the LastPass plans please see this page:https://www.lastpass.com/plans-and-pricing
There's a more robust version that I upgraded to several years ago and that's what I have been using. If it were free I wouldn't be so irritated when it doesn't work as advertised
Has this issue ever been resolved? Last Pass was fine with Safari but I switched to Chrome a few weeks ago for websites with a lot of graphics. LastPass not linked apparently (no login info appears).

For the last few weeks, after my PC wakes up from sleep, LastPass is often unresponsive. When the icon at the top right is clicked, the safe appears the knob spins, and it keeps on spinning. If I give up and go on with my work, and try LastPass again later, sometimes it's still unresponsive. Eventually it works normally.
I cleared the LastPass cookies and logged in again, but that didn't solve the problem. Any ideas?
I'm using ChromeVersion 108.0.5359.126 and a free account.
