why want payment process for "families" renewal

Question

payment will not process for renewal of families, i have tried using different browsers, logging out refreshing page, different device and even different card for payment every time same message after attempting payment

"payment cannot be processed"  all cards used are well funded and not experiencing issues elsewhere

my account is restricted in its functionality due to not being able to renew

Do you use a protonmail email address? These clowns in their wisdom are now blocking any payments associated with an account that uses a protonmail email address. I am having exactly the same problem. It has taken a painstaking near 3 weeks of slow back and forth to establish that it’s not actually a problem of payment processing at all. It’s a policy thing. Go figure.

I could not agree more. I let my paid subscription lapse when my registered credit card expired. After a number of years as a paying customer I am seriously reconsidering my options after this new stance and the dramas I am having simply trying to give them money. The email address I registered with, which has never changed and been fine for many years, all of a sudden isn’t and they are claiming it as a security risk.

If a supposedly bulletproof secure password service is scared of an email - we are all in serious trouble!

I suspect it may be more of a policy thing to try and block people from using a provider with a competing product. This is more likely to drive me into the competitors arms than make me want to stick with last pass.
