Why do my extension settings keep reverting?

I have checked the "Log out after this many minutes of inactivity" box and set it to 30 min and it is constantly getting reset back to default of unchecked (which is a poor "default setting", IMO).

I searched this discussions and one answer was it could be due to cookies/cache/browser settings being reset. I have not made any changes. Do these extension settings sync between installs? I have LastPass browser extension on multiple computers (Mac and multiple PCs). Is the change being overwritten by another computer's settings being uploaded? That would be pretty poor if an older config could overwrite a newer config.

I have the same issue, specifically with the "log out after this many minutes of activity" setting.

I set it at 120m, save it, go out and back in to check it and it's OK.

Overnight (without closing browser windows, clearing cache etc) the setting reverts and LastPass doesn't log out. This is occurring on two separate subscriptions, on different machines in different work environments.

As above, having sessions not time out as default is a poor choice, IMO.

I'm having the same problem of the 'log out after this many minutes of activity' becoming unchecked. I didn't have this problem until going to the new 'Apple Store' version. It appears to be a bug with the new version.

FYI, This is what support suggested and it worked.

In order to get the issue resolved, try to follow the next steps:

-Click on the LastPass web browser extension (it's located on the upper right side on your browser toolbar)

-On the LastPass web browser extension drop-down menu, click on the "Account" button

-Then you need to go to "Fix a problem yourself"

-On that section you need to click on the first option "Refresh your vault" then you need to click on "Clear local data"

-Uninstall the LastPass browser extension and reinstall it from the websitehttps://lastpass.com/misc_download2.php?tab=windows&anchor=cr

-Login to your LastPass account through the extension and try to make the changes on the "Extension Preferences" section

-Verify if the changes don't change whenever you close the browser

I have the same problem, Chrome extension version 4.132.0. The above steps to clear data and reinstall did NOT help.

Same issue. I have a sneaking suspicion it has something to do with Google Chrome phasing out 3rd party cookies and the only thing that's going to solve this is a software update from LastPass. LastPass uses cookies to store extension settings.

RECENT DEVELOPMENT: It seems logging in with passkey authentication on Windows doesn't preserve the extension settings when you close the browser (if you chose the face ID or fingerprint via Windows Hello option during passwordless setup.) Also if you're using a passkey on Windows you must often reload the vault upon logging in because it doesn't show any accounts and you can't fill anything until the vault is reloaded and accounts are showing. Logging in directly with username and password or passwordless via lastpass authenticator app preserves the extension settings between browser sessions and everything works as intended.
