Why is my LastPass now requiring me to login every day across different browsers instead of every 30 days or so?

I've been using LP for many years, and typically my browser extension and phone stay logged in for about 30 days before it makes me log in again. Then I can say "remember this device" and it won't require me to log in for another 30 days.

Recently I changed the primary email address associated with my account. Ever since I did that, I now have to log in to my LP extension daily. I use the extension across a variety of browsers, too, and I'm having to log back into all of them every day.

I don't know if the email change is related or not, but I'd like to figure out how to get this working the way it did before.

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

So that we may investigate further, could you please provide screen shots of your LastPass General Preferences for automatic logout from inside your Vault?

We'd like to confirm both the extension settings and account settings for auto-logoff inside.

Separately, please note if you have any other browser apps / extensions currently activated besides LastPass.

I have the same issue. Only started in the last week.

My browser (Dia, chromium) has a few user profiles and LastPass started asking me to log in for each profile - fair enough. But now its asking for a login every time I switch to a profile, regardless of the 30 day option.

In the last day, the LastPass extension is asking me to reload the page (modal popup screen attached) before autofilling details. Not sure if this is a Dia/Chrome/LastPass problem, but it's annoying.

I apologize for the inconvenience this is causing you. I have seen that the issue is related to maybe a system setting for auto log out changed. Would you kindly check under account settings > show advanced settings > security the auto log out and also from the extension under account > extension settings. More than 3 weeks. painful. When I try to access HELP I get a paywall even though I purchased the annual subscription in November 2025. The settings to log out are all blank but LP still is closed upon opening Chrome. The suggestions do not work.

Same for me and this is across differing computers and browsers. I also have annual subscription haven't changed any settings.

Hello,

I am in the same boat. All computers and all browsers seem to logout of LP every day. Each morning I have to enter LP credentials to be logged back into the system. I checked what (Alejandra_LP (Employee)) mentioned and all log off checkboxes are unchecked. Nothing has changed on my end as I have not updated any settings. I am thinking this is a glitch on the LP side as I just installed a new computer in the network and the same all browswers logout each day.

I haven't verified this yet because I just now found it, but it seems logical.

I went to my vault, then account settings, general, show advanced. Under that section is an option for "Auto-Logoff" that was set to 1 day (even though I never set it that way.)

When I hover over the little info icon for that setting it says this:

>Automatically end all LastPass.com and browser extension sessions after the selected period of time.

>Recommended: 2 weeks

I set mine back to 2 weeks, and I'm hoping that puts me back how it was before. So it's even recommended to have it on 2 weeks, but I think something about the LP system must have set this to 1 day for many of us for some reason.

I am having the same issue. I use multiple browsers during the day and every morning I have to log back in. I checked the settings described above and neither box was checked. I can understand if I clear my cache or history I have to log back in, but every morning and sometimes throughout the day, I have to log back in. This started recently as well.

Clearly something changed at LP recently and I hope they can fix it soon.

I've found the exact same thing, certainly not something I've changed. I've reset mine back to the 2 week recommended setting.

Would have been nice for this to have been pointed out by LP staff!

THANK YOU drewangell for posting the solution to the maddening LASTPASS logging itselfout of of all browsers after 1 day. Again, to fix: VAULT --> Account Settings --> Show Advanced Settings --> change AUTO LOGOFF from 1 Day to your choice of longer.
