LastPass on Chrome keeps loging out

Hi team,

Recently (just for a few days), LastPass started to auto log out. I haven't changed LastPass settings recently. I have a couple of profiles, the issue is on both profiles. I double-checked LastPass auto log out settings, they are empty. I don't have extensions that could kill cookies, I'm not using ad blockers.

Any ideas why it's auto logging out?

I apologize for the repeated logout issues you've experienced recently.

There's@" another "thread discussing several possible reasons for this behavior, including but not limited to:

A Yubikey integration that may need to be reset
Windows 'Hello' functionality working in the background
Enhanced browsing in Chrome
Account settings:General tab > Show Advanced Settings. Scroll down to "Re-Prompt for Master Password"
Account settings: General tab > Advanced Auto-logout > Set both auto-logoff times to the maximum
A policy enabled in the LastPass Admin Console "Account logoff (website)"
Various MFA requirements malfunctioning (requires disablement, then re-syncing from within your online account settings)
Chrome site settings: Delete Data + Reset Permissions

Please check these options to see if one fits your scenario and let us know if the problems persist + what troubleshooting steps you tried.

In the extension's service worker, I can see numerous errors:

Uncaught (in promise) Error: Cannot access contents of the page. Extension manifest must request permission to access the respective host.

Also, when I re-login, it skips 2FA for unknown reason.

How do you see the "service worker? Is it the Diagnostic Log (under Preferences--> Advanced)?

I am having the same issue with LastPass using Edge Chrome, and this has been going on for the past 4 or 5 days.

Seeing the same behaviour with the LP Chrome extension, using latest Chrome build Version 135.0.7049.42 and same LP Extension version 4.140.1. Logs out several time a day (every few hours).

Same setup as OP, extension inactivity timer is disabled.

Don't see any errors reporting in the LP Extension diagnostic log though - turned on and left running through a log out.

Tested in Edge browser and not seeing this behaviour - extension remained logged in and LP Vault available all day.

Can we get comments from LastPass, assuming they have moderators monitoring their Community posts?

Service worker is in on extension page.

It 's getting worse. In one of the profiles, it stopped logging in. Just nothing happens when I enter a password. Reinstalling helps for one time. Then it doesn't work again.

Same problem. For the past two days, I've been constantly noticing that I'm getting logged out of the LastPass browser extension across different browsers and devices (both PC and MacBook). Today alone, I've had to enter my password more than 15 times to log into my account. What's going on?

I'm experiencing the same issue. It seems to log me out every ~5 minutes or so. It's infuriating. I've tried to update the Chrome extension in hopes of correcting this, but no luck.

Same issue with our organization. It happens on both Chrome and Brave (at least from the reported users so far). Have not seen a fix or response from LastPass on this as of yet

I will second the previous comment. Did the recommended process for both Chrome and Brave. Both running on 4.140.2 now and still have been kicked out. Our logout policy has always been disabled

We are seeing this with the Firefox extension (version 4.140.1), but I haven't seen it in Chrome (version 4.140.2). Is this a problem that was affecting both, but has been fixed in the .2 version in Chrome? If so, when can we expect an update for the Firefox extension?

Also tested changing the extension inactivity timer to a high value in Account > Extension Settings > General > Log out after this many minutes of inactivity does not stop the behaviour with the Chrome LP Extension. Still logs out,

But the thing is, in my case, there had not changed anything, except, Windows was auto-updated.

If you're on Windows, have you confirmed the 'Hello' feature is disabled?

Have you checked the browser settings for those referenced in some solutions?

Do you utilize any MFA options with your login? If so, have you attempted to reset them (disable, then re-sync through lastpass.com, on a desktop) ?

I was having this problem too. I think I found what the issue was for me. Under Account Settings, Show Advanced Settings, it had Auto-Logoff set to 1 hour.
