Google authenticator - initial setup not working

I am brand new to LastPass using the trial edition and I'm trying to set up MFA using google authenticator on my iPhone and when I scan the QR code on my desktop (Win10, Chrome) authenticator displays a code but what do I do with it? Back on my desktop nothing has changed, the QR Code still displays and there is no place to enter the code? What am I missing?

I ended up installing the LastPass authenticator and it worked. But I don't like this solution because if everything worked this way I'd end up with a dozen authenticators. But I can live with it

That would make sense but it's working, Glenn. I say that because when I go back into LastPass it immediately takes me (again) to the step where I need to set up MFA (see screenshot). I'll use the LastPass authenticator if I have to but I don't need yet another authenticator. AndI also tried with the Microsoft Authenticator with exactly the same results.

After you scan the QR code into the app you then enter the MFA code the app generates back into the the LastPass website as a confirmation which completes the setup.https://support.lastpass.com/help/how-do-i-set-up-the-google-authenticator-app
