HOW to set up/enable LastPass account recovery?

Hi! I must be missing something, as I cannot figure out exactly how to set up an account recovery. I've read the page where the recovery options are described, but it doesn't really guide how to enable the option of your choosing. I'm using LastPass free, and would like my recovery optionbe #1: Log in to LastPass from your desktop. Checked both mobile and desktop version, but I only seem to find on desktop version the SMS recovery option set up. Also wondering are the mobile specific recovery options any good if your phone gets smashed ... thus would like to opt for the desktop one.

Appreciate any help on this probably silly question(s)!

For the account recovery to work on your Desktop you need to have logged in through the browser extension with the current Master Password at least once. This will generate a recovery one time password which is stored in the extension cached data and is used if you start the recovery process. If you uninstall the browser or extension, clear the cookies and cache or reset the OS of your computer then the recovery one time password will be deleted as well and you would need to log in again on the extension for a new one to be created.
