LastPass recently slow to load; "LastPass Web Content" is hogging memory

Until recently, logging in to my Vault took only 3 seconds or so. Now it's more like 30 seconds.

And in Activity Monitor, I see that"LastPass Web Content" is in two pieces — and together they spike at log-in to more than 2 GB of memory — sometimes up to 4 GB. (My old machine doesn't have enough capacity to handle that kind of memory usage without complaining.) At the moment, they have calmed down to a total of 450 MB.

Has something recently changed in how LP operates? Is this the new normal for LP?

I suppose I should add that I'm using LP on an iMac with Big Sur (11.6.8) and Safari 15.6.
