LastPass password overwrites saved account passwords

Question

Whenever I open an account in LastPass that uses the same email address in the Username field that I use for LastPass, the password for that account gets overwritten by Chrome with my LastPass password. How do I prevent this?

I need technical support but can't find any way to get technical support on your website.

By far the most common cause is saved LastPass data in the browser's form filler or password manager, and it is overwriting the fields.

Resolved, but I'm confused why it suddenly started happening after years of using LastPass.

Anyway, my solution was this:

I use my gmail account for LastPass, but also for many other accounts, and I ran into this issue as well. I finally resolved by appending '+lastpass' to my gmail address in LastPass. Gmail allows you to add +anything to your gmail address; for instance myname@gmail.com gets delivered to the same account as myname+lastpass@gmail.com. By updating with +lastpass, my LastPass password no longer overrides other accounts where I am using the same gmail address that I use for LastPass.
