Hi @bgriffin
Welcome to the LastPass Community.
The password to log into LastPass is the same at lastpass.com as well as your browser plugin.
You are currently entering an incorrect password, and have not updated the login for over 1 year.
I suggest manually typing out the LastPass password in a separate document, being careful with the placement of any capital letters, numbers and symbols, then copying that into the LastPass credential field.
Sorry - that error message happens after I try the "forgot password" function ...
If you continue to receive an error message, then it means you do not have enough locally cached personal data for LastPass to securely identify you. In this case you will need to reset the entire Vault (erase) in order to create a new PW.
Thank you. I tried what you suggested, but it didn't work....

If you can't recover your account, you can reset it.
I have also tried using the "forgot password" function, but it isn't working. Is there a way for you to send me an "update password" or "recover account" link?
I'm starting to wonder if my account has been hacked, maybe the email & password were changed?
If you haven't cleared your Chrome browser's cache in the last 4 days, then you may be able to follow this procedure to generate a recovery one-time-password through that same browser.
I had not cleared by cache, but the recover process tells me it can't recover my account using my email address.
Is there a reason why my master password does work on the website but does not in the Chrome extension?
If I understand correctly, LastPass worked great for me for months, then without warning one day it didn't work and rejected my master password and locked me out of my passwords. And resetting my vault will mean losing all those passwords.
