Tried uninstall and reinstall. It worked once. then same problem. I can only open the chrome extension after I login using the Yubikey from the website.
Only happens with people who have YubiKey 2FA. Only since the latest update. It is really stupid now. Happens in MS Edge, too. When the extension dialog pops up, asking for YubiKey, you must not touch your YubiKey but instead click the back button on the extension dialog box (upper left corner), retype your LastPass master password (yeah, I know, a MAJOR inconvenience), then touch your YubiKey.
Also, for no reason, once you follow my workaround, it automatically opens your vault on a full-page browser view.
I can work around this problem in Firefox by downgrading the browser plugin to the prior release, version 4.127.0.1. However, I am extremely reluctant to do so, because doing this means that I have to turn off automatic updating, which is not something I want to do for security-critical software.
I see essentially the same thing on Firefox (Linux) with my YubiKey MFA. I now have to re-enter my master password every single time I start Firefox, which is pretty awful. Interestingly, once I enter the master password, I don't have to touch my YubiKey, though — I get logged right in.
This is really annoying. I hope they fix this really quickly
It's been two months. We also experience this problem in LastPass Business and LastPass Family. Firefox is fine. Chrome and Edge both have the same problem on all systems I checked. Yubikey authentication doesn't work unless you first click the back button instead of the yubikey, provide your master password and then the yubikey.
I expected this problem to be solved by now. Now I start to wonder if I need to take my business elsewhere. I can't hold off my colleagues forever.
OK, So has anyone raised this as an issue to support?
I've been having the same problem, but my problem has been a bit weirder than that.
I am also (months down the line) now getting the authenticate with yubikey screen every time I open my browser, even if I only just closed it. but here's the rub. I was logging in with my Yubikey no problem, until I didn't have that key to hand and used my spare key. The Extension just would not accept my spare Key.
After much dicking about, testing and a support shout to Yubico because I thought my spare key was broken, ive found that the browser extension just doesn't like THAT key. I swapped them round so that they were in opposite slots did the same thing.
Now I see, that I can log in to the webpage using both keys fine, on Firefox and Chrome, but the extension on both browsers BOTH will Authenticate using the key 1, and Both will NOT authenticate key 2. Unless I use the workaround that someone mentioned above,: Click back, Enter password and use either Yubikey - it works fine.
Still needs fixed though. 😐
Paid customer here. Is there a fix for this yet? My account is up for renewal in a month and if this is not fixed I will be switching to bitwarden instead as I've tested it for a couple of weeks now and it works just fine. Might as well give my money to the company with the product that works.
I raised a ticket to the helpdesk, and got the below response:
The issue you described was recently escalated to our developers, and it is under investigation now. While we do not have an ETA, please rest assured that our team is actively working on a solution in the most expedite way. We'd like to apologize for any inconveniences that this issue may cause you.
I just tend to leave my browser open if I'm not using it for a while, that avoids having to log in every time I open it, and your Yubikey does work everywhere else except THAT box, so just click back to use a different login method, so you can use your password and THEN your yubikey.
Hopefully they will have it sorted soon.
