Regarding your MFA set up, it sounds like you may have both mixed up the confirmation phone number. While this method of authentication is supported, it is less reliable for several reasons compared to MFA apps installed on your mobile device that have rotating number sequences used for login confirmation. I suggest disengaging any current MFA options from within your account settings, and then starting from scratch to re-sync multifactor auth again. These are all the current options available to users for MFA solutions.
