When using the Chrome extension of LastPass, I have to login twice in order to access the vault. That is, I have to type my password, pass multifactor authentication, and then required to sign in with password and multifactor authentication again.
Yep. Started a day or two ago. Possibly during a Windows update? Maybe coincidence. Only in Chrome and/Edge.
Delete cookies from past 24 hours and you can get 1 login without the crap. Close browser and the crap starts until you delete cookies (again).
Having the exact same issue here. Using Edge. Always have to enter master p/w twice w/ browser plugin.
Was able to log in on the first try this morning, after several days of double-take. Still on version 4.133.0, so it must've been fixed server side.
09/09/2024 07:12am PST. Still have to input master password twice in Win10 Chrome. Problem for months. No feedback or reply from Lastpass. Premium subscriber.
This is an issue in Firefox as well. I have Firefox set to clear cookies and cache upon closing the browser, which I do every day, and that has not helped, nor has adding LastPass as an allowed exception.
Its extremely annoying. Reinstalling the chrome extension helps, but only for a short time - then its back to two logins.
Don't you just love it when you click "See Answer" all you get are comments from other users having issues with LastPass product support. I pay for Lastpass Families and the issue exists after weeks. 09/26/24
Logged a case with support. Provided a link to this thread and asked them to address the issue. Will see what they say.
Still the same problem with double master password every morning. Using latest Chrome 129.0.6668.71. Very annoying.
This is happening with me as well. First I sign in with my extension, do the 2 factor. Then it redirects me to my vault to sign in again, do the 2 factor again.
I have the same problem, but only on home computer, Win11/Chrome. At work I'm using Kubuntu/Chrome and it's working properly, writing password once.
I have been having the same issue. I use chrome and Multi Factor Authentication. The odd thing is on my chrome browser at work I do not have to log in twice. The only difference between the two is at home I also have the desktop and the chrome extension installed. At work I only have the chrome extension. It is a real pain and I have been looking for a solution. I have been a premium user for over 10 years but may change providers.
Same issue for me. Premium user, MFA, and up-to-date Chrome and Windows 11. Uninstalling and reinstalling the extension did not help. Don't seem to have the issue in an Incognito window. Unless LastPass resolves this soon, I'm likely switching to Bitwarden.
i also just create a support case about a similar issue. I often log into the Chrome extensions, and it seems to log in (no error message) but the icon stays gray. However for the tab i'm on, the icon will now show the number of matching sites. Yet i can't log into that account, and switching to another tab just shows the icon as the normal gray/logged out. Its like it partially logs in on that tab, enough to access my vault but not actually use it. Like this: This is not one of the 3 "icon states" that Last Pass lists in their oneline guide.
So i then have to log in with my master password again. Anyone else getting this exact bahviour? I've recently reinstalled the extension and it seems to come back pretty soon.
It doesnt' happen everytime, but usually after i leave my browser up and running for a long period of time and come back to it it always happens.
In addition i'm still getting the beahviour where it doesn't log out after the time i set it for., which i know is a whole other story, but a pretty important one!
My support case has been escalated twice now. Will update this thread if/when I hear anything.
I had the same issue and have been through the clearing cookies and re-installing the extension, but still had to log into lastpass extension twice. I found the same, that if you have the option set in the extension to logout after a specified period of inactivity it always asks for password entry twice. Once I'd disabled this option - still have the logout when browsers closed - it works with a single login.
Support seems to be narrowing the issue down in my case... My org has policies that enforce Account logoff on browser close, Account logoff on browser idle (extension), and Account logoff on shutdown/logoff. They had me setup exclusions to those policies for my account and the issue resolved. If you are able to disable those settings for your account it may resolve the issue for you. I am not able to do that so I will continue working with themand will post an update when I have one. I am not sure why they will not respond to this thread themselves.
The Dev teams has fixed the bug that was causing the issue for my team. They released v4.138.0 of the Chrome extension on Dec 12th. Hope this helps some of you.
