Account recovery verification code is rejected

Since I had to last change my Lastpass password to something completely unmemorable (more than 30 days ago), I can't get in on my PC. I've tried account recovery using a verification code to my phone and keep getting:

ERROR

The link has expired or is invalid. Please generate ad new link and try again

I've tried multiple times and keep getting the same error. I'm using the code immediately.

I use Lastpass daily on the PC, so please do not say I don't have enough cookies/whatever to support this error.

I'm able to get into my account on my phone due to facial recognition.

How else can I get back into my account???

So, after repeated trying I finally managed to get in. The stupidity of this is that I now need to make sure that I save this password somewhere - as it seems that it's simply impossible to gain access to your account if you forget your password. Having read so many other similar problems, recovery just doesn't seem to work. This is entirely unacceptable.
