For those coming here looking for the same solution, I found one.
In Comet you can enable "Developer Mode". Go to Extension Manager (visit comet://extensions/ or click on the extension icon in the navigation bar), and toggle the Developer Mode (top right) on.
Reload the Chrome extension page and click "Add to Chrome". This worked for other extensions.
LastPass needed me to disable my VPN/Security Tool temporarily so it could install. Once I did, LastPass loaded in Comet.

Welcome to the LastPass Community.
At the moment LastPass extension works only on supported browser. I understand comet is chromium based, however, is not part of one of our supported browsers. You can find more about the options where extension is available by going here: System requirements for LastPass
Also, in some cases if you go to the downloads page it does let you install the extension but is possible some features might not be working as it works on a supported browser.
