Summer Sale offer won't close

Hello:

I'm using Windows 10 and the latest version of Chrome. I am currently using a LastPass free account. All of a sudden (today July 24, 2023) when I click on the LastPass RED dotted icon at the top right hand corner, it opens with the usually small window. But then within this window, when I go to click 'Vault', it temporarily opens but then its blocked out with a 'Celebrate summer with 20% off' message? There is no way to click off of this message and I'm blocked from accessing all the functions listed in the normal Vault window?

Has LastPass ended free accounts? If not, how do I access the Vault window and get rid of the summer sales message sitting on top of the screen?

I apologize for the oversight on our part when creating this promotional offer. While it was designed with an 'X' button in the upper-right of the pop-up, it is not clear enough or visible in some scenarios.

We are going to rework this ad immediately to make it easier to close.

Sorry for the duplicate question, I should have read the community board first but I was very angry. I posted the exact same question as you with my subject title 'Can't access vault - get summer sales message'. But I also asked if this means LastPass is ending free accounts?

This is very annoying, if LastPass is ending free accounts, why haven't they given us a general E-mail message? And if not, then I agree with you totally that is a serious bug that needs to be fixed immediately! But the bottom-line is there's no way to tell if this is a bug or if LastPass has ended free accounts. I, like you have resorted to posting my question regarding this summer sales message blocking the vault because I don't know how else to get an answer from LastPass?

When I log in using either the browser extension or the LastPass website, an annoying "Celebrate Summer With 20% off" coupon appears as a popup, rendering the Vault unusable. There is NO way to make this "coupon" go away. No X that I can click. This is a serious bug that needs to be fixed immediately. What can I do to resolve this issue?

You're right! Wow - I didn't see that yesterday or maybe it was a bug and LastPass fixed it? But in the sales message and it's poorly delineated (if you're color blind, it would be impossible to pick it up), there's the slightest faint white X in the top right hand corner of the small sales window!

Thank you so much for making me really focus on it but I swear, when I posted my question yesterday, that faint white X was not there. But as I say, it hardly visible to the eye, just suggesting that LastPass change the color and font, showing a large RED 'X'.

Just a quick edit to my comment: My eye picked up a second 'X', which a color blind person would not have been able to see. Look at the picture of the piece of luggage, just slightly above the handle you can see a very faint blue colored 'X'.

This is a very poorly designed pop up ad, the 'X' to click out of it should be found at the top right hand corner in a large font and be in the universal color of black.

Same problem here. There is no one to contact at LastPass and I’m crippled with access. This needs to be fixed immediately. Last time I’ll have all logins and passwords with one vendor. If anyone knows a workaround please post.

Thanks for your response. I just wanted to mention that there have been identical issues int he past with other promotional popups. I also wanted to underline that in this latest case the problem was that in the Edge browser there was NO "X." It was not a question of visibility, but of existence.

No, I checked out the images slowly and thoroughly. There was NO "X" anywhere ---- if you were using Edge. That was true for both the browser extension and the LastPass website version of the Vault.

However, when I accessed the Vault in Chrome, the X was there. It was faint, but there, The popup did not display an X in Edge due to a bug in the way it was formulated by LastPass.

I'm glad you posted a screenshot of the problem! I posted the same question and someone told me to look at the top right hand corner of the summer sales message. I can't believe LastPass would delineate such a 'X' that a color blind person would not be able to pick up. But in the top right hand corner of the sales messages there's a very faint white colored 'X' - I know, unbelievable right! Also my eye has now picked up another 'X', see the picture of the piece of luggage, well, look just slightly above the handle, yeah - that's right another 'X' that a color blind person wouldn't be able to pick up is seen as very faint blue colored 'X'. I don't know who designed this message but his/her supervisor had no right signing off on it! You don't design advertising pop-up messages without having an 'X' being in a large font and being in a color that a color blind person would still be able to pick up, black is the universal color.

Anyways folks - there's your X's to click out of this sales message.

If you float your mouse in and around the top right corner of the sales message, you may find their well-hidden X close button.

I'm running Brave on MacOS High Sierra. At present, I cannot do much celebration of summer as LastPass is also locking me out of the web site that stores my passwords. One would expect a company whose focus must include expert coding, not to lock users out of their site.This must be affecting a large number of free accounts.

I think it depends upon the browser. Yesterday no "X" appeared if you were using the Edge browser. But then I tried Chrome and it was there. Issues of this kind have happened in the past.

No, there is NO "x" to close the message, at least when viewed in the Edge brower. I have the same problem. I notice that when accessed via Chrome there is indeed an X.
