The laptop slows down, fan spins, and generally makes the laptop unusable. Win 10, SSD drive (500GB), 32GB RAM.
Is there a fix? I really like the plugin, but my laptop is becoming unusable.
The temporary fix may not show the performance improvement right away, but take several minutes for the background actions to level out. Please let us know if the high CPU behavior persists after 10+ minutes using LastPass version 4.139.3.
As no better ETA exists, is there at least any workaround known to this problem? I have several machines affected by this issue and it's critically affecting the production. Or the case is that this issue is considered the lowest priority ever for LP? I'm starting to regret even to login here at the community to ask something. Seems waste of time.
Thank you. I did search "high CPU" before posting, however I didn't see the post you referenced. I read the referenced post, and it seems to refer to Chrome and Edge only. I have noticed the issue on both Chrome and Firefox. Will the fix being released this week also fix Lastpass on Firefox, or just Chrome/Edge?
Thanks
The new update will apply to all web browsers and should begin the release process this week.
Is this update coming to chromium based browsers too? I'm using Vivaldi and for more than a week this issue has been pestering my workflow at a point I'm considering losing the weekend to migrate my company's PCs from LP to some LAN solution which is not so unstable as LP has been for the last months.
And there is no better ETA from the dev team for this fix?
Hi @john.bishop.syd
As mentioned in other Community threads about this topic, we are releasing a software update this week to address the LastPass performance issue.
I have now installed Version 4.139.3 into Edge from the Chrome extensions store. I'm still getting the same high CPU usage. CPu usage is about 7% to 10% on a 12/16 core 13th Gen Intel Core i7-1360P.
Thanks for your patience, everyone.
Please perform a full re-install of the LastPass app to receive version 4.139.3, then log back into your account and please let us know if the issue remains.
The Microsoft Edge Add-Ons extension store still has Version 4.139.0 from 4 February
Thank you, yes, after a while the high CPU uage stopped and has not resumed. I have installed the Chrome extension on Edge, as the Edge extension store still has Version 4.139.0 Updated 4 February 2025. Do you intend to update the Edge extension also?
Unfortunately, with version 4.140.2, I, too, am still experiencing this issue. Might more improvements be forthcoming?
