I'm trying to turn over management (and billing) of the family plan (currently expired but wanting to renew) to another individual but I'm prevented from doing so without first renewing my membership. Is there a way around this?
Okay, thank you for checking. If you follow the steps in this support article and delete the expired Families account, all of you will be switched back to LastPass Free plans at which point anyone can upgrade to Premium or a new Families plan if they wish.
Understood. Are you able to access any of the Families Manager pages, or are you asked to purchase a plan when you try to access them? If you can get to the Manage Family section from your Vault you could remove the family members. Right now I am checking if deleting the expired Families plan will remove it from their accounts also,
No, it immediately prompts me to reactivate my subscription. I'm locked out of the family management console until/unless I renew.
Therein lies the rub. He's still tied to my account, inactive though it is, and receives an error message when attempting to upgrade stating that only the family owner can do so. So it appears I'm stuck unless a Lastpass admin can intervene.
Hi@"trian3"
Since the Families account is expired I think the best course of action would be to leave it and have the other person upgrade their account to a new Families plan of their own.
