Why do I have to log into LastPass twice?

Nearly every time I log into LastPass, it quickly logs me out and wants me to log in again. This is using the browser extension and Linux. (I use Chromium, but I just tested it on Brave and the same thing happened.) Very occasionally, the login works the first time, but no idea what if anything I'm doing differently. I have been typing slowly and checking for typos when I enter the password. Any idea why this is happening, and what I can do about it?

EXTREMELY annoying... I also have to login twice EVERY time on PC, phone, tablet doesn't matter. Fix this please....

Likewise. You have to login to the app itself, then again the first time you go to retrieve a password. It's infuriating.

I'm having the same issue with the Chrome Extension. The past few weeks it takes me 2 tries to log in. Very frustrating!

I turned off the Advanced setting "Share login state between browsers" and it quit doing this.

I turned off the "Reprompt for a Master Password" under Alerts in Advanced Settings and this did the trick for me.

Same for me, I'm on Chrome. Has worked fine for years but suddenly requires two attempts every day I sign in, signing me out immediately on first attempt.

I was having the same issue recently and then it fixed itself. Have you tried installing most recent versions of Chrome and the LastPass Extension? That may have fixed it for me.

Yes, very annoying. Has just this week started happening to me too (I use Chrome). Really beginning to think about moving on from LastPass. It's becoming a bit of a pain.

Same thing was happening to me for a while. What fixed me was removing the current browser extension, v 4.132.0 (right click, remove from chrome)

Closing the browser and re-opening

Installing the current extension, v 4.133.0

Sometimes I have to login 2, 3, 4, 5 TIMES! It is VERY frustrating. This happens to me with Edge, Chrome, or Brave and on Windows or on my Mac at home. Grrrr

This has been happening to our staff for over a month and support has been clueless. They've had me clear cookies/cache, update to v4.134.0, delete and re-added two corrupt vault items...nothing worked. Between this and the known issue of the security dashboard taking 5 minutes to populate, I'm losing confidence in their product. Happens in Chrome and Edge. I'm trying the suggestion from some of you to turn off the Advanced setting "Share login state between browsers" in the browser extension.

I too have to log in twice, not every time, but usually when I haven't opened the browser for a while, say an hour or two. Unchecking "Share login state between browsers" does not fix it for me. I have uninstalled the Firefox extension and reinstalled. Did not fix it. I will try clearing the cache and cookies.

It's a pain in the neck.

I had the same issue and have been through the clearing cookies and re-installing the extension, but still had to log into lastpass extension twice. I found that if you have the option set in the extension to logout after a specified period of inactivity it always asks for password entry twice. Once I'd disabled this option - still have the logout when browsers closed - it works with a single login.

I'm having this problem as well. Reinstalled the chrome extension multiple times. Disabling auto logout is less than optimal. Will consider switching to a competitor if this can't be resolved, such a pain.

I've been experiencing this issue as well. I use Chrome, Edge, and Brave across both Windows and Mac. Initially, I thought it might be related to my YubiKey, so I disabled it. Unfortunately, this had no effect — I'm still prompted for my YubiKey every time I log in, even after entering my password twice. If LastPass can't resolve this issue soon, I may have to consider switching to a different provider.

Same here. Uninstalled, reinstalled extensions; tried switching from Chrome to Safari. Same. Have to login twice 8 out of 10 times. Have checked password; it is correct. Called LP Customer Service; they were puzzled.
