More than once I have received a breach alert that says "Compromised email: . The compromised site is almost always one I've never heard of. For example, recently I got this one. So how am I supposed to follow up on this? What is the email involved -- the one that my LastPass account is attached to?

Try searching your vault for that email address. Maybe the extension captured a fake email you filled out, or it's in a test entry somewhere.

This type of communication stems from an email you set to watch through Darkweb Monitoring. If a site where you used this email on has a security breach, then it's possible your credentials for it are being shared by others online.

If you did not use that email account on the site, then your email could have been used maliciously to create false user accounts therein. If you did have an account on the referenced website, then you should be able to check this in the Security Dashboard to make sure the password / user name combination are not reused.

Thanks for the quick reply, but I'm still confused.

The part of the communication I don't understand is the "you@yourdomain.com." That's not my email address. So, is it telling me to substitute my own email address for "you@yourdomain.com"? If so, which one -- the one that I used to set up LastPass, or all emails in myLastPass vault?

That is, if you got that message, what email would you think was compromised?
