I have performed this process twice and I have no safari extension to activate in my safari extensions, I have 2 other iMacs the same age it works perfectly on them as it did on this one until yesterday.
The software is useless if it does not work as a Safari extension, I might as well just use the built in apple password software 😡

I've been fighting the same problem and LASTPASS' response, (clear cache, start over, uninstall, reinstall) is getting tiresome. When I tried to install LASTPASS for SAFARI I could not get LASTPASS for SAFARI to show up in the list of entensions. So, with a great deal of pain, I located another MACBOOK PRO, formatted the drive, reinstalled MACOS and then reinstalled LASTPASS. That got me back to the point of failure. When I followed the instructions and installed LASTPASS for SAFARI, the extension would not show up in the list.
This is getting annoying.
