The temporary fix may not show the performance improvement right away, but take several minutes for the background actions to level out.
Please let us know if the high CPU behavior persists after 10+ minutes using LastPass version 4.139.3.
@richard.abramson We do not allow for older installations for various security reasons. Rest assured, the update is underway and will begin its release plan within days.
Thanks for your patience.
The same thing for me. I have tried Edge and Chrome with lastpass extension, they are all have high cpu usage.
It is good before I upgrade the 'content url encoding' feature.
From the chrome task manager can see the bad guy is 'background-redux-new.js' a work process.
Hello @Andrea,
Welcome to the LastPass community.
I apologize for the huge inconvenience this is causing you. There is currently a developer team working on fixing this issue with the High CPU usage. It's our top priority currently to get it resolved to stop the issue. At the moment, we don't have an ETA to resolve the issue but when the issue get's resolved the extension will be automatically updated
Kind Regards,
Alejandra

Hi, I have the same problem and it´s cruppling the performance of Chrome using the latest LastPass plug-in. Can you confirm that a) this is the issue being worked on specifically by the developer team and b) if there is a possibility to use a different version of the chrome extension?
Thanks, Richard
The same thing for me (windows 11, chrome 133.0.6943.127)
Thanks for your patience, everyone.
Please perform a full re-install of the LastPass app to receive version 4.139.3, then log back into your account and please let us know if the issue remains.
Thanks for the update. I've removed and reinstalled the lastpass extension, but the problem remains. It seems to be a little less contant, but to be confirmed.

EDIT: After restarting the browser several times, I confirm that the problem reappears only sometimes .... strange behavior ; for example, In the last 4 restarts, the problem seems to be solved ... I hope it remains like this 😉
@Ash Cannon
Thanks for your reply. Followed your suggestion and tried the new version (4.139.3) but unfortunately the problem is still here.
I can confirm that after restarting the browser 5-6 times, the problem seems to be solved. Thanks!
Thanks for following up. I left the extension active for 20 minutes but no drop in activity. On the other hand, I restarted Google Chrome 6 times, the activity was still high but it returned to normal in 5 minutes.
@Ash Cannon @albrecht.frank
Unfortunately today everything seems to be as it was before: excessive use of the CPU even after many minutes. I did several tests (restarting Chrome may times) and even after 1 hour, after 45 minutes, after 30 minutes the problem persisted without ever stopping. @[Ashc_LP] If you want I can publish some screenshots. 😔
Today I had to restart Google Chrome 4 times so that the phenomenon disappeared immediately after opening Chrome. Waiting more than 10 minutes doesn't seem like enough.
Since yesterday no more problems, may be linked to the update
4.139.5
thank you for your help
