Can't Login to either Chrome Extension or Web Site; Bad certificate?

Starting yesterday I can not login to the Chrome extension (latest update). I also cannot login to my vault from the LastPass website using Chrome (on Chromebook) or Edge (on PC). I was able to login on a PC using Firefox.

On the extension, I get the following: "An unknown error has occurred".

On the web login with Chrome I get the following:

lastpass.com normally uses encryption to protect your information. When Google Chrome tried to connect to lastpass.com this time, the website sent back unusual and incorrect credentials. This may happen when an attacker is trying to pretend to be lastpass.com, or a Wi-Fi sign-in screen has interrupted the connection. Your information is still secure because Google Chrome stopped the connection before any data was exchanged.

You cannot visit lastpass.com right now because the website uses HSTS. Network errors and attacks are usually temporary, so this page will probably work later.

I get a similar message from Edge.

On Chrome, the certificate appears to be for some other entity, which is probably the issue (see below).

Any hints on how to get this working again?

Thanks for giving that a try. If you are able to log in on a different network, it looks as though it could be related to your network. We would recommend trying arestart of your network, or contacting your ISP to see what could be causing this issue or how to resolve it as well.

Day 3 with issue: can't login to either Chrome extension or web page.

LastPass.com login page still showing a certificate from PNC Bank, which is likely the issue (main page cert is for LogMeIn).

Any ideas?

Is this happening when connected to a different network or when logging in to LastPass on a different computer/device? Have you tried clearing your browser's cache and cookies then testing again to see if you still see this error?

I have not tried another network (just my home setup).

As I mentioned in the original post, I have tried it on both my Chromebook (my main device), and on a Windows PC , using both Edge (doesn't work) & Firefox (did work).

On Chrome, I did clear the cookies & cache for LastPass and it did not make any difference.

The issue started on Monday, apparently when the lastest browser extension downloaded, so I needed to log in again.

On Sunday I began seeing "Can't connect to server" type errors from the Chrome extension, but I was logged in, so there wasn't much impact (other than the annoying message).

The certificate for the site being from another company seems to be the most logical explanation - not sure how that could be on my end (but I'm no expert!)...

Rebooting Router seems to have fixed it.

Just to clarify:

On the Chromebook, it doesn't work with either the extension or on the web login. With the PC, I only tried the web logins.

I was able to login to web page using Chrome on a phone on Verizon Wireless network.
